Tribute to Our Past
This page is dedicated to the dogs of our past who have helped make our kennel what it is today. We acknowledge their contributions to our lines as well as their accomplishments. We also thank them for all they have taught us and for the love they have brought to our lives and home.

Crista was from our first litter we ever bred - in fact she was the litter, having been born a singleton pup. She proved herself as a wonderful obedience dog many times over in novice obedience, open obedience, in AKC, CKC and UKC forums and as well as in Rally-O. She was a pack dog on our hiking trips and was our main leader on our recreational sled dog team. She was a mother once, a grandmother twice, and a great grandmother twice—wonderfully teaching all of our puppies “their manners” of being part of the pack. In 2006 Crista completed her Rally Novice (RN) title at the age of 13 1/2 years old. Crista said that the RN stood for “Retired Now”. She loved welcoming the new puppies and patrolling our fenced back yard.

Kira was one of those special dogs that comes along infrequently. She was an especially apt obedience dog, loving to go out there and perform. She went HIT at the Yankee Siberian Husky in 2003 and then in 2004 she went HIT at three Canadian trials, two on the same day and the third the following day. She quickly took to Rally-O receiving her RN (Rally Novice) title quickly. Kira also was a great pack dog, ran on our sled dog team and has also been a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Kira completed her RAE title in April 2010, finishing with a flare with second and fourth placements in her classes!! Kira completed her UKC Rally Level 1 (URO1) title in September 2010. Kira was awarded the SHCA’s Top Scoring Siberian Husky in Rally Obedience for 2009.

Yoshi was a wonderful, fun dog to own and to work. We picked her from the litter because she was the spitting image in looks and in temperament of her grandmother, Pendra. She was considered the “cheerleader” of our sled dog team, no matter what you are doing she is always up for it - she has a wonderful work ethic, always giving you 110%. But her absolute favorite thing to do in the world was to snuggle and have her belly rubbed—she’s even been known to lay down in a puddle just to get that belly rubbed!

Tanis is another of our multi-talented dogs. He was the main leader on our team and has passed on his lead dog talents to his nephew, Darion. He was a wonderful pack dog. He had a grand time in Rally-O, and showed that he was definitely up to the challenge having won - twice in a row - first place in the Rally Challenge class at the SHCA’s National Specialties. Tanis really turned on in the Rally ring when you start talking to him. He was our “talker” - letting us know that we aren’t getting his dinner to him fast enough or that we really didn’t need to stop the sled to take a break because he was not tired! Tanis completed his RAE title in February 2012 (the same day Yoshi completed her RE title). Not bad for another of our 16 1/2 year old siblings.

Treva has followed in her mother Kira’s paw prints but she has made some of her own! Treva was our older son’s primary Junior Showmanship dog when first starting out and together they made a nice team - more often than not winning their class. Treva is a very capable pack dog and sled dog as well as doing well in both the obedience and rally rings. Her first time at a trial at the SHCA Nationals in 2006, she placed third (with a score of 195/200) in Novice in a very large Novice B class and at the same show she placed 4th in Rally Novice B with a 99/100. This was accomplished in back to back trials where she was also entered in brace obedience with her uncle Tanis and being shown in Jr. Showmanship the same day. A pretty heavy schedule for such a young girl at the time but she showed us she was up to the challenge. Treva has two legs towards her UKC CD title, being awarded HIT at back to back trials on the same day!!
Moonshadow’s Lady Arwen of the Northern Lights, RN
October 20, 2003 - April 17, 2017
October 20, 2003 - April 17, 2017
Arwen was our homebody, preferring to be at home with the other dogs and our family rather than at a show. After completing her Rally Novice title, she took up tracking and enjoyed it. She liked being the "Big Aunt" to our Siberian litters, showing the breed's "gentle Giant" temperament to the youngsters.
Arwen welcomed all of our company, whether it be human or canine - always willing to share her drool with everyone!

Freya is a special girl. Born with a congenital defect (ectopic ureters) that caused her to leak urine, she underwent several corrective surgeries that were successful. Shewas our other son, Eric's, Rally-O dog and they did nicely together as a team. Freya is a great pack dog just loving to see what is over the next rise and down the trail. She also runs on our sled dog team. Freya was shown to her Rally Novice title in 2009, being completely junior handled by our son. At their first trial they won first place with a score of 99 (against all adults) and our son even outscored his dad in Rally (but not his mom!). Freya placed 4th (in a class of 37) and was awarded the Highest Scoring Siberian in Trial when she received her first leg towards her CD. She was awarded HIT at the Yankee Siberian Husky Club Specialty and completed her CD title. Freya is working on her UKC Rally Level 1 (URO1) title (partially junior handled). Freya was also awarded the SHCA’s Highest Scoring Siberian in Rally Novice for 2009—again completely junior handled!! Freya traveled to Canada in early July 2014 and earned 2 legs towards her Canadian CD title and was also awarded the Highest Scoring Veteran in Obedience for the cluster!! Freya traveled back to Canada in early April 2016, and earned her 3rd leg in Novice Obedience completing her Canadian CD, earning a 4th place in the class. Freya completed her Rally Advanced title in 2017.

Darion demonstates the typical easygoing temperament of all our dogs as well as the aptitude for obedience. Darion is our main leader on our recreational team. Darion completed his CD title in November 2012 and he started his journey with a bang, winning HIT AND Best Junior, handled by our son Ryan, at the Yankee Specialty in June 2012. Darion’s HIT also helped us to retire the YSHC’s Obedience Challenge trophy!! Ryan and Darion became quite the team qualifying to compete in Junior Showmanship at the 2012 AKC/Eukanuba National Invitational Show. Darion competed at the 2015 AKC Rally National Championships in March 2015 at the Rally Advanced level. He was the first Siberian Husky in history to compete at these events. Darion, after both runs, earned a cumulative score of 182 out 200 ranking him 25th out of the 59 teams competing at that level. Darion won a 2nd place in Veteran Obedience at the 2016 SHCA National! Darion earned his Rally Excellent title in late September 2017 and in early November 2017 he completed his Canadian CD. Darion was awarded the SHCA's Highest Scoring Siberian in Rally Excellent Award for 2017.

Shiya had a terrific attitude and was always up for whatever came her way, whether it be showing in the breed ring, running in harness, showing in obedience or Rally or running in FAST CAT. Shiya took a 3 point major in April 2012 from the 12-18 month class. And at the Yankee Specialty in June 2014, she was Best of Winners for a 5 point major. She completed her championship at the next show she was shown in. Her first time out as a special, Shiya won Best of Breed for her first GCH points. Shiya is our co-leader on our sled dog team. Shiya was awarded the SHCA's Highest Scoring Siberian in Rally Novice award for 2015. Shiya earned her first Rally Advanced leg , earning second place, and Novice obedience leg , earning first place, at the 2017 Yankee Siberian Husky Specialty in June 2017. Shiya completed her Rally Advanced degree in July 2017. In early June 2018, Shiya went High in Trial from the Novice B class at the Yankee Siberian Husky Club Specialty and later that month Shiya competed at the 2018 AKC Rally National Championship in the Rally Advanced level. She was the only purebred Siberian Husky to compete at the event and after both runs had a total score of 194 out of a possible 200 earning her 27th place out of 73 teams competing Shiya was awarded the SHCA"s Highest Scoring Siberian in Rally Advanced in 2017. Shiya was introduced to FAST CAT and loves it! She is very close to earning her BCAT title. In November 2019, at the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Cleveland Shiya won 2nd place in the 8 to 10 Veteran Sweepstakes class. Shiya then won 1st place in the regular 8 to 10 Veteran class. At the 2019 SHCA National Shiya won first place in the Veteran Obedience class with a solid score of 194 and helped anchor the first place Rally Team - Novice, scoring, along with her daughter Silk, perfect 100's. Shiya was awarded the SHCA's Highest Scoring Siberian in Novice Obedience for 2018. At the Housatonic FastCAT trials in October 2020 Shiya completed her BCAT title!.This girl loves the chase.

2017 SHCA National Best Brood Bitch
May 9, 2008 - April 26, 2022
Ciara has been a dynamite addition to our kennel. She and all her littermates have wonderful temperaments that attest to their breeding and have been passed down to their offspring. Ciara, now retired from the team, was also a wonderful member to our sled dog team. She was handled by our son in the Bred-By class and accrued 10 points towards her championship. Ciara completed her CH title being handled wonderfully by Jessica Plourde. Ciara completed her WPD in the fall of 2012 and she earned her BN title in November 2012, placing second in her class for her first two legs. Ciara produced a nice litter for us in December 2012 and was a wonderful mother. Ciara went High in Trial at the Yankee Siberian Husky Club Specialty in May 2015, scoring a very nice 191 in the Novice B class earning her first leg towards her CD. At the same show she also earned her first Rally Advanced leg with a score of 90. Ciara completed both her CD and RA titles in 2015. Ciara was awarded the SHCA's Highest Scoring Siberian in Rally Advanced for 2015!! Ciara, shown with her daughters, Sparkle and Shimmer, won first place in a large and competitive Brood Bitch class at the 2017 SHCA National in Virginia Beach. She also won 2nd place in the 9-11 year old Veteran Bitch class at the 2017 Garden State Siberian Husky Club Specialty held prior to the National. Ciara also earned a leg on her rally excellent title and was second in her Veterans obedience class! Ciara is retired now but she still jumps for her dinner and likes to explore our fish pond!
